Start your adventure at Molly’s Pup-Purr-ee, we will give you a map to begin your walk to collect the goodies for your doggies at participating retailers. Last year brought out an crowd of 650 doggies and their 2200 humans.

“Walk to Rescue” is a new feature at Doggie Night this year. Animal rescue groups will be on the mapped Doggie Night route.  Prior to 5/21, participants are encouraged to collect contributions from sponsors for walking your dog to all the dog rescue points.

Up Up and Away

Lucky Dog Rescue partnered with Wings of Rescue on a rescue mission on 2/13/15 by transporting dogs from our overcrowded shelters to rescue partners in Bremerton and Bellingham, WA. Wings of Rescue (WingsofRescue.org) is a non profit animal rescue group run by pilots who’s mission is to fly adoptable animals to safety. Lucky Dog Rescue sponsored the dogs from the Tri-City Animal Shelter in Fremont and the Hayward Shelter.

It was a beautiful sunny morning when 41 dogs from animal shelters in our area eagerly awaited to board their flight to their future. Dogs from the Fremont, Hayward, Oakland, Tracy and Turlock shelters waited anxiously in their crates as they were loaded into plane with the precision of a game of Tetris. A huge thank you to Cindy Smith of Wings of Rescue for the coordination of this flight and the many caring individuals who made it possible for these 41 dogs to have this second chance of life.

Murphy, Our Little Survivor

VISIT OUR “HAPPILY EVER ”  TO SEE MURPHY’S FOREVER FAMILY

We don’t know how long Murphy was left to fend for himself, but we know it was for a VERY long time.

Murphy was found roaming the farm fields. His coat was so matted that it took three people to determine if it was a male or female. His coat was extremely overgrown, twisted and pulling on his skin. His mouth was partially matted closed. His teeth was coated by a blackish substance. But that tail wagged like crazy when we met him. He knew we were there to help him.

This little 10 pound fighter has a heart of gold. He is approximately 5 years old. His entire body is shaved (down to the skin in some areas). All of his teeth had to be extracted due to decay! OUCH! We suspect he survived on garbage using his partially matted mouth for an extremely long time.

We will keep you posted on Murphy’s progress. He may not win any beauty contest right now, but his pretty white coat will grow and he will be as gorgeous on the outside as he is on the inside. He is getting stronger every day and eating every meal with gusto. Murphy can’t wait to find his forever family. Please contact Audrey for more information. 925-200-3102 or alennox609@comcast.net

Thank you to Molly’s Pup Purree for organizing a fun evening for all our furry friends. The weather was perfect for “treat” gathering for our pooches and strolling in  downtown Danville.
